Bronze and Gold Leaf Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva
Description
Following the 4.5 - meter - tall bronze Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva statue, we were commissioned by Bright Hill Phoe Khaaw Chan Temple to create another seated Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva statue, which is 1.8 meters tall overall and also covered in gold leaf. It consists of two parts: the Buddha statue and a staff. This new Buddha statue is now placed in the temple's open - prayer area.
The statue was made using the traditional lost - wax casting technique. From the 1:1 3D - printed model, fiberglass model, sand shell to bronze casting, each step requires careful production to achieve the best effect. After casting, the gold - leaf surface treatment is also a very meticulous job. It involves spraying primer, applying filler, brushing base coat, and finally applying specially - made gold leaf to the sculpture's surface, which demands highly skilled craftsmen.
For packaging, the Buddha statue and staff can be separated. To facilitate transportation, our engineers suggested dividing the staff into two parts and packaging it separately from the Buddha statue. This significantly reduces damage from friction between the staff and the statue during transit.
